Erika Jayne has made quite a name for herself — from Broadway to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — over the last six years. Her life with husband Tom Girardi has been filled with privilege with a stunning Pasadena estate, lavish vacations and her glam squad following her to every corner of the globe.
But things have taken quite a serious turn over the last several years as the couple announced their divorce in 2020, Girardi has been placed under conservatorship due to his Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis, the famed lawyer was disbarred and the couple has been implicated for the misappropriation of funds from victims’ lawsuits. And oh yeah, there’s infidelity on Girardi’s part.
Needless to say, there’s a lot going on and after over a year on the market, their beautiful Los Angeles-area mansion finally sold, according to Dirt. The duo was hoping to get $13 million for the residence, but the price was cut several times until it landed in foreclosure. The new owners are scooping up the place for a fraction of the original cost at $7.5 million —that’s if the bankruptcy court approves the sale and they aren’t overbid in the upcoming house auction on Oct. 18. (Yes, the former couple’s finances are a mess.) No matter who winds up the owner, the proceeds from the sale will go to paying off Girardi’s creditors.
The mansion has a historic pedigree, having been designed by Myron Hubbard Hunt in 1928. The home boasts four bedrooms, nine bathrooms and spans over 10,277 square feet. The rooms are decked with intricate woodwork that makes it a very formal affair — and one that doesn’t feel like the Pretty Mess author’s vibe at all, to be honest.
Of course, there is a wine cellar, a gorgeous library and a splash or two of “Erika Jayne” in the house, but we think she’s just as happy in her new home where she downsized to a $1.5 million property with a modest three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It may not have the custom walk-in closet for her jewelry and shoes as the Pasadena home did, but “she’s made it her own space and loves it,” an insider toldPeople.
Don’t miss the incredible highlights from Jayne’s estate — we love the pool — and be sure to check out even more photos on TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.
