These Celebrity Homes Have the Most Enviable Outdoor Setups

Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos

We don’t know where to start when it comes to Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos because they currently own three homes — New York City, Telluride, Colorado and the Hamptons. Honestly, it’s their $27 million Manhattan townhouse that gets us excited.

To get to their rooftop patio and garden, guests need to take an elevator. Once they arrive, they will see stunning views of the city, where the couple has arranged comfortable seating for an out-of-this-world dinner party. (See the photo here.) Their rooftop garden also boasts cherry trees that they can just pick the ripe fruit off of (after riding the elevator, of course).

Madonna

Madonna is headed back to the West Coast with the new home she purchased in Hidden Hills for $19.3 million from The Weeknd. While there are some serious LED moments inside the house (click here for more of that unusual decor), it’s the peaceful backyard that’s going to make it a total oasis for the Material Girl.

The pool area looks like a spa — calm, serene and decorated with neutral tones. If Madonna’s kids want to whoop it up and take that serenity up a notch, they can have fun on the basketball court while mom watches from the nearby deck — it’s honestly the best of both worlds.

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are living their best lives in Montecito, California because their new home has some serious land. There’s plenty of room for Archie, new sis Lilibet and those cute chickens we met during the Oprah Winfrey interview to run around.

But we have a feeling that it wasn’t the tennis court or the resort pool that sold them on the property — it was the playground. The kids will be the envy of their neighborhood with the slide, swings and climbing equipment that’s better than any park playground. (See the aerial shots at the Dirt.)

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is looking for a new home in Los Angeles (maybe to be closer to boyfriend Ben Affleck?), but we love her current Bel Air home because the backyard looks like a Hawaiian vacation. From the tropical outdoor bar to the multi-level pool with chaise lounges you can sink right into for a nap — it’s a complete trip away from reality. The kids won’t be bored either, there is an area dedicated to lawn games, including miniature golf.

If LA isn’t your vibe, then head back East to her New York City apartment, which has over 3,000 square feet of outdoor terrace space, which is bigger than a lot of homes. Lopez has views of Madison Square Park and several gliders to lean back and enjoy the surroundings of twinkling lights and seating for dozens (yes, dozens) of her friends.

Nestled into the hills of the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have a modern country home with a backyard that gives them the utmost privacy.

With over 1.6 acres to spread out and entertain (in LA, that’s a lot of land), the couple will definitely be throwing big post-pandemic parties by the pool in the future. The outdoor living room has a wet bar, cabana and plenty of couches for lounging. With 180-degree views, the couple can sit back and enjoy the sunset while drinking a glass of wine.

Oprah Winfrey

We could spend all day talking about Oprah Winfrey’s six homes, but it is the Montecito, California estate that is her prized possession. She’s nicknamed it “The Promised Land,” and with good reason. She told her magazine readers in 2013, “I poured my heart and soul into making it perfect.”

On any given day, Winfrey can choose to walk by her pond with a large fountain of water bubbling out from the center or head to her perfectly manicured gardens, where she spends hours in her fruit and avocado orchards. If she needs to take a break, she can head to her tea house on the property, where she loves to “read, meditate, and enjoy a cup of tea.” She can also spend her afternoons leisurely wandering amongst her estate’s walking trails that are lined with beautiful pieces of sculptures she’s collected over the years. We are going to wait by the phone for an invite!

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson isn’t known for doing anything small, and that includes his new $27.8 million Beverly Park estate. You could live on the grounds of his property, never step foot inside the main house and still live like a king.

The long winding driveway accented with olive trees makes you think you are in the French countryside, not a gated neighborhood in Beverly Hills. That road leads to lush gardens resembling Tuscany, Italy, a tennis court, an outdoor pool and a back patio that looks like a country club. If you want resort living, stop by Johnson’s house, you will never want to leave.

Beyoncé & Jay Z

Beyoncé and Jay Z don’t just have a mansion, they have a Bel Air, $88 million mega-mansion — and the grounds do not disappoint at their estate. Their kids, Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir can choose from four swimming pools (one is on the rooftop!) to splash in on any given day while mom hangs out in the spa and dad hits the basketball court. Their 10,000 square feet of outdoor living space mean the couple could go a full day without seeing each other — and the kids have plenty of grass to run around and enjoy the California sunshine.

Kris Jenner

If you’ve watched the last few seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, you know all about Kris Jenner’s spectacular La Quinta, California home. The desert region has become a home away from home for the Kardashian family, and Jenner made sure to have plenty of space in the backyard (11,000 square feet) for the kids and grandkids to roam. 

The interior living room extends to the exterior giving off views of an infinity pool and the elite Madison Club golf course. The reality show stars can gather around the multiple fire pits on those chilly nights or find serenity in the cascading waterfalls that surround the backyard area. We have major Pinterest envy over Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ modern farmhouse because we are pretty sure this is the house to get invited to the next long weekend. We are already picturing Kutcher in his apron cooking up a storm in their new barbecue pavilion by the pool on their six-acre property. 

The kids have a dedicated area with an entertainment barn that makes their home feels like it’s a million miles outside of Los Angeles. The couple spent five years working on the property and even planted a field of corn during the pandemic, irrigated with a well they installed on their own. We love seeing Kutcher go right back to his Iowa roots. 

Kimberly Guilfoyle & Donald Trump Jr.

The conversation piece about the $9.7 million Florida home that Donald Trump Jr. and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle recently bought isn’t the pool. They have a beautiful pool, but it’s everything else in the backyard that has us filled with envy. The stunning gardens and lush grass abuts the picturesque Jupiter bay and offers up the most gorgeous coastal views. Matt Damon & Luciana Barroso

Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barroso also had the Hawaiian vibes when it came to their stunning Pacific Palisades home. As of January, it was up for sale for $21 million, so hopefully, someone can get a jump on buying this home. Besides the requisite pool, Damon and his wife added a waterfall area and a Koi pond to give it that island feel. To maximize the tropical effect, there is even a covered lanai for outdoor dining while the children can run around and play on the property’s playground. There’s no need for a trip to Hawaii when you have a vacation getaway just steps from your back door. 

John Travolta

John Travolta and the late Kelly Preston used to summer in Maine at a spectacular New England estate on the private Isleboro Island. The home went on the market in February for $5 million, but let’s break down why you should buy this stunning piece of property (if you have the money lying around).

Besides the expected pool and wraparound porches to take in the views of the ocean, think about the exclusive dock on the oceanfront property where you can kayak, park your boat or swim without any of the paparazzi bugging you. Leonardo DiCaprio is going to live in style this summer because he just bought a home that was formerly owned by Gwen Stefani. It was the No Doubt singer, who designed the swimming pool with a cascading waterfall that the actor can now enjoy. 

The ultra-private Los Feliz home is built right into the hillside and has an outdoor living room set up alongside a fireplace for the cold(ish) California nights. There’s even a dining terrace adorned with tiny white lights to create a very intimate and romantic night for a date. (Camila Morrone is one lucky girlfriend!)

Sofia Vergara & Joe Manganiello

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello are neighbors of Dwayne Johnson in Beverly Park, so you already know this home is spectacular. This property transports you straight to the Italian countryside with its olive tree-lined paths and Tuscan villa home. The pool area leads directly to a spa with flowing curtains that give off breezy vacation vibes.

For those who want to avoid the sun, they can nap in the covered cabana or head over to the outdoor dining area for a snack. Their backyard also has a tennis court surrounded by cypress trees and stone columns — a perfect place for the lovebirds to rendezvous for an afternoon match. It’s no wonder this couple stays pretty private outside of work, their $26 million property is too stunning to ever venture away from.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift owns multiple properties, but it’s her Watch Hill, Rhode Island outdoor space that has us swooning. With over five waterfront acres to run around, we miss the days of the A-list Slip ‘N Slide parties over the Fourth of July. Of course, there’s a pool and fitness room on the grounds, but it’s the seven miles of private beach that makes this the perfect place for Swift to get away from it all.

There are also the views of Fishers Island Sound, Little Narragansett Bay, The Watch Hill Light House that is all hers — no unsightly buildings to interrupt her gorgeous scenery. This Pasadena home won’t be Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi’s for long as they have it up for sale amid their divorce and pending lawsuits. But what really sells this home is the backyard with its distinct narrow, but long, pool that runs almost half the length of their property. We saw it countless times on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, whether it was a drink on the stone veranda or a walk through the beautiful trails on the estate. There’s so much reality show history to be had for only $13 million.

Naomi Osaka

Tennis champ Naomi Osaka recently swooped up a new home in Beverly Hills from Nick Jonas for $6.9 million. We think it’s the perfect oasis for the athlete to relax and prioritize her well-being after dropping out of the French Open. The cozy vibes of the outdoor living area overlooking the drop-dead gorgeous pool (look at the sunset here!) is probably what sold her on the beautiful home.

There’s not a tennis court in sight because who wants to bring the office home every day? Instead, Osaka gets to enjoy the adjacent guesthouse with a private gym overlooking a view of the hills, or she can sunbathe on her grassy lawn, taking in all of the peace the private home has to offer.
