Kanye West has always been a passionate artist who is willing to go over the top to seek his vision — and that might include trying to reconcile with ex Kim Kardashian. His pre-Thanksgiving rant about the fact that God believes he “needs to be back home” with the SKIMS founder and their four kids, North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, is coming to life now that he’s bought the house across the street from her in Hidden Hills.
He wanted this property so badly that he paid $421,000 more than the sellers were asking for — so there was no competition when it came to buying this home. It’s a place that doesn’t fit Kanye’s minimalist vibe one bit and at 3,651 square feet with five bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, it’s not exactly up to the A-list standards he’s used to. This place is going to require a lot of TLC (possibly a complete teardown?) before he can turn it into the monochromatic palace of his dreams. But he only has a little over an acre to play with, so the rapper is going to have to think on a smaller scale.
There’s also the question of whether the rapper bought the home to keep tabs on Kim and her blossoming relationship with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. A Hollywood Life source revealed that “he’s very, very upset” and “is willing to do absolutely anything to get Kim back,” so we are guessing that being his ex’s neighbor was high on the list. We wish Kanye well since breaking up is hard to do and maybe a renovation will take his mind off the fact that Kim is moving on.

A Small Footprint
This isn’t the luxury Kanye is used to, but it keeps him in close proximity to his kids, who can run across the street to see dad.
A Modest Home for Kanye
The exterior gives the home a quaint feel, but it doesn’t vibe with Kanye’s minimalist aesthetic.
Kanye’s Kitchen
The kitchen, like much of the home, needs updating, but the Yeezy founder might like the white appliances since he’s into neutrals.
Gorgeous Woodwork
This room has good bones with the stunning exposed beams and the brick fireplace — plus lots of natural light from the backyard.
Stonewall Fireplace
This room has possibilities with the beautiful stonewall fireplace and the large picture window facing the lovely landscaping.
Primary Suite Ready For an Update
OK, with a splash of color and a ceiling fan, Kanye probably can’t wait to renovate this room.
Carpeting in the Bathroom
This is all one big no with the carpeting in the bathroom — the idea of mold just creeps us out.
Lovely Pool
The pool is the perfect spot for the kids to come over and join their dad for an afternoon of fun.
Horse Property
One of the things that makes Hidden Hills so special is that owners can keep their horses on the property. There are also trails along each street to ride your horses.
Kanye’s New Backyard
The horses have their own pasture to graze in the California sunshine and Kanye can keep an eye on his horses if he decides to become an equestrian.
