It’s happening again: we’re swooning over the red carpet — or rather, blue carpet — arrivals. It feels like every week, there’s a new ground-breaking award show happening. Last week, it was the Screen Actors Guild awards and this week it’s the Independent Spirit Awards. While we always love watching the awards shows, we have a soft spot for the red carpet fashion.
Founded back in 1984, the Independent Spirit Awards — or Spirit Awards — are an awards show dedicated to indie filmmakers, actors, and crew. This year, on March 6, they took place at the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, California. This year, many won big like Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut filmThe Lost Daughterwon the acclaimed “Best Film,” “Best Director,” and even “Best Screenplay” awards. Along with that, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally hilariously hosted the entire broadcast — and at one point, flipped off Putin.
With any awards show, there’s bound to be a plethora of daring, glittering gowns to dapper suits — and this show did not disappoint. From Gyllenhaal’s floral suit to Euphoriastars looking as elegant as can be, it was not a show to miss. But in case you did, we got you covered.
