Within the past decade, you can’t go anywhere without hearing people talk about billionaire Elon Musk. From his controversial Twitter deal to unique baby names, there’s more to the Tesla founder than meets the eye. Not only is Elon a bit of an enigma, but so is the whole family. We see his mama Maye Musk on the red carpet with Elon from time to time, but did you know his siblings are also big names in their fields? Recently, Elon’s sister Tosca wrote an in-depth profile about mama Maye for Sports Illustratedthat’s left people itching to know more about the family. In the piece, she said, “[Maye] always told us to do something important, to find a mission for why you do what you do. My goal is to empower women. My oldest brother, Elon, is all about humanity, making sure we survive. My middle brother, Kimbal, is all about food transparency, making sure people understand their own health. I think my mom inspired us to do all those things.”

Maye Musk
Model and dietitian Maye Musk met her ex-husband Errol Musk back in high school, marrying in 1970 and divorcing less than a decade later in 1979. They share three children together named Elon, Kimbal, and Tosca, all of whom appear to be close with their mama as adults.
Maye Musk started modeling in the late 1960s when she was a finalist in a Miss South Africa beauty competition, and she went on to appear in ads for Revlon, CoverGirl, Verizon, and Target. She earned her two master’s degrees in dietetics and nutritional science, and had a long career speaking on these issues across the globe.
Most recently, Maye became the oldest model ever to pose for Sports Illustrated Swim at age 74, accompanied by words from her daughter Tosca about how much she admires her mother.
“My whole life, I’ve seen my mom do everything. As a result, I think I’ll always expect her to be able to do everything. Sometimes I wonder whether it’s time I start limiting those expectations, as she gets older. But then I look at her again, still unstoppable, and I think, Not yet.”
Errol Musk
The rest of the Musk family live in the spotlight, but there’s a lot of mystery surrounding papa Errol Musk. Errol is reported to be an electromechanical engineer, pilot, and sailor. While he and Maye’s children are close with their mother, it’s reported they have an estranged relationship with Errol. Per The Sun, Errol also has three more children — two from his marriage to second wife Heidi, and one from his stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout, who was 4 years old when Errol married her mother Heidi.
Despite being estranged from the Musk children, he spoke highly about them in 2015 with Forbes, saying “I took them all over the world. Elon was generally in the back seat. Kimbal, my other son who is just as energetic as Elon, would do all the guiding and navigating.”
Tosca Musk
Born July 20, 1974, Tosca Musk is the only daughter of Errol and Maye Musk. Tosca is a filmmaker and the founder of the streaming service Passionflix, which only streams romance films and adaptations of bestselling romance books. She is the mother of twins, and recently shared in Sport’s Illustrated that mom Maye relocated to be near her after her kids were born.
Kimbal Musk
Born September 20, 1972, Kimbal Musk went on to become a well-known restaurateur and chef. As of 2022, he’s the owner of The Kitchen Restaurant Group, co-founder of the nonprofit Big Green, and co-founder of the farming company Square Roots. Kimbal has three children with ex-wife Jen Lewin, whom he divorced in 2010 after nine years of marriage. He’s now married to Christiana Wyly.
Kimbal was the center of controversy back in April 2020, when HuffPost reported there was something amiss with Kimbal’s claims of a “Family Fund,” a fund made for his restaurant employees who need money during hard times. The article stated that, when COVID-19 hit, many employees were laid off and had no access to the funds they contributed to for years. Kimbal denied the claims at the time.
Justine Musk
Canadian author Justine Wilson and Elon Musk met back in college when they were attending Queen’s University. They married in 2000, welcoming six children into the world soon after. They kept their relationship low-key, even during their divorce in 2008. In 2010, however, Justine published a bombshell article about her former marriage to Elon in Marie Claire.
The article entitled ‘”I Was a Starter Wife”: Inside America’s Messiest Divorce’ shined a light on their relationship, from meeting in college to their divorce proceedings. She called them soulmates, but also recounted that on their wedding day, during their first dance, he whispered in her ear, “I am the alpha in this relationship.”
She also said she loved his new wife Talulah Riley, emailing her “I would rather live out the French-movie version of things, in which the two women become friends and various philosophies are pondered, than the American version, in which one is ‘good’ and one is ‘bad’ and there’s a huge catfight sequence and someone gets thrown off a balcony.”
Talulah Riley
One of the most unexpected couples we’ve ever seen is with Pride and Prejudice star Talulah Riley and Elon Musk. Soon after Elon Musk and Justine Musk divorced, Elon started dating Riley in 2008. Two years later, they married at Dornoch Cathedral in Scotland. They kept a very low-key marriage throughout it all, except when the two divorced in March 2012 and then remarried less than 18 months later. On New Year’s Eye 2014, Elon filed for divorce again but withdrew it soon after. The two called it quits for the last time in 2016.
In 2024, she did a rare interview with The Times about how many perceive him a different way than she sees him.
“Well, you know more than anyone how what we read in the mainstream media is not necessarily an absolute truth,” she said.“ It’s ‘kayfabe’ — everyone’s telling a story to a certain extent and will frame things to a certain extent. I loved/love the guy, so I’m incredibly subjective in my opinion, cannot be unbiased and shouldn’t be expected to be either. I’m sure, well… You know what being in love is, right?”
Grimes
Singer Grimes and Elon Musk actually met through Twitter and started to date in 2018. They welcomed two children — X Æ A-Xii and Exa Dark Sideræl — together before splitting up in March 2022, at which point Grimes tweeted that Musk was “my best friend and the love of my life” despite their breakup.
Nevada Alexander Musk
Justine and Elon Musk welcomed their first child, a son named Nevada Alexander Musk in 2002. Tragically, Nevada passed away after 10 weeks due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Griffin Musk & Vivian Jenna Wilson
In April 2004, Justine and Elon Musk welcomed their twins Griffin Musk and Vivian Jenna Wilson into the world via in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Vivian is estranged from her father.

Elon Musk and Neuralink exec Shivon Zilis reportedly welcomed a third child together earlier in 2024. According to Bloomberg, they allegedly welcomed another child together, but the details are currently unknown.
An Alleged 13th Baby with Ashley St. Clair
Conservative influencer and author Ashley St. Clair alleged that she welcomed Elon Musk’s 13th child, her first, in Sept 2024. She wrote on X, the app formerly known as Twitter, “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause. I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”
Nothing else is known about Musk and Clair’s relationship, the baby’s sex, or name. But everyone is talking.
