Like sister-in-law Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle has always had a stunning sense of personal style. While Kate’s looks may err on the preppier side, Meghan’s always been all about elevated casuals mixed with high-end brands — and in her time since leaving the royal family, she’s really been able to return to her fashion roots and let that killer Cali style come out in full force. Don’t get us wrong, Meghan’s royal fashion looks were always breathtaking too — but the looks we’ve seen post-2020 show Meghan at her most comfortable and confident and we can’t get enough.
After Prince Harry and Meghan left the royal family behind, moving to Calif. in Aug 2020, Meghan has worn more relaxed, casual looks. She’s rocked the mini-skirt dresses, all denim outfits, and power suits left and right. If there’s one thing you catch Meghan in, it’ll be a show-stopping look no one expected before.
While Meghan and Harry haven’t been out nearly every day as they were when they were royals, they always wow at every event. In recent polo matches in the United States, Meghan wore that iconic all-denim outfit the internet went crazy over and rocked that Old Hollywood-glamour look comprised of a Nili Lotan blouse and Khaite shorts. She sure knows how to change up her look every time, while keeping her elevated casual aesthetic every time. To say we’re obsessed is an understatement.
For Meghan’s birthday today, let’s see some of her best post-royal looks below.
Summer Chic at Polo Match
Everyone couldn’t get enough of Meghan Markle’s denim outfit she rocked back in mid-June 2022. She arrived at a polo match to support Prince Harry, but all eyes were on her and this darling, perfect summer chic denim duo! (Psst: while we don’t know the specific designer, we found so many cute lookalikes!)
Dark Look at Midtown
When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived in Midtown on September 23, 2021, everyone swooned over Meghan’s elevated, dark monochromatic look. Lately, she’s been loving the LBD (we don’t blame her, she looks amazing!), and with this look, she paired it with an Emporio Armani single-breasted virgin wool coat.
Stunning in Burgundy Suit
We’re still not over Meghan Markle’s burgundy suit that she wore to promote her book The Bench; it perfectly captured her elevated casual fashion sense. With this iconic look, she rocked a reversible (and sustainable) Loro Piana cashmere coat and Manolo Blahnik BB pumps.
Valentino in NYC
While speaking at Global Citizen Live in New York, Meghan Markle donned a cream Valentino mini-shift dress. We love a good shift dress and this truly fits Meghan’s personal style.
Wowing at the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala
For the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala at NYC’s Intrepid Museum, Meghan Markle wowed with a bright red Carolina Herrera gown that was unlike any royal dress she had donned before.
Meghan Rocking Denim
If there’s one thing post-royal Meghan Markle loves, it’s a good denim piece. While reading “Duck! Rabbit!” to her son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, she rocked a classic denim blouse.
2022 UN Appearance
Recently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived at the United Nations building in July 2022, and of course, Meghan arrived in style. She wore a sleek Givenchy Patch Pocket Pencil Skirt, a black crewneck, and her beloved Mulberry Bayswater tote.
Polka Dots & Polo
Meghan Markle channeled Princess Diana in this monochromatic, polka-dotted ensemble at the polo match in Santa Barbara.
She rocked high-waisted, pleated white shorts from Khaite with a black-and-white polka dot Nili Lotan blouse, black Aquazzura slingback heels, a black Khaite belt, and Valentino sunglasses.
Power Suit in NYC
At the One World Observatory on September 23, 2021 in New York City, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle matched in darn power suits. This was the first outing the pair had since welcoming their daughter Lilibet.
