It’s the end of a royal era with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, but fans can get a glimpse of what it is like to live the fancy life by renting one of the cottages on her property in Sandringham, England. The residence used to be occupied by her gardener, but she savvily decided to put it up for rent on Airbnb before her death for an affordable price: $400 per night.
There is a three-night stay minimum, but there are several bedrooms to gather up to eight of your friends (including yourself) and get that cost per night down a little bit. Now, it’s not the most modern of rentals, but you get to breathe the same fresh air as the royal family — so keep that in mind as you sort through the photos. The real showstopper is the gorgeous landscaping and grounds, the perfect place for a walk if the weather holds up. The home is also pet friendly, so bring your favorite pup (corgis are especially welcome) on your vacation.
The interior isn’t the most inviting, but the description notes that it is “furnished eclectically from the Royal Collection, all the furniture and pictures were once housed in a royal residence,” so there are those bragging rights. However, bring an extra pair of slippers for the bathroom, which for some reason is carpeted by the shower and the tub. Take a look at this royal residence to see if you’re up for the trip — and be sure to visit Dirt for more snapshots of the Sandringham Cottage.
