Not only did many members of the British royal family arrive to show their love and respect for the departed Queen Elizabeth II, but so did many esteemed leaders from around the world. From the United States to New Zealand, world leaders of all kinds arrived to mourn and pay tribute to the longest-reigning monarch.
On Sept 8, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96, leaving behind an ever-growing family and a long reign of 70 years. After quite a few twists and turns, and last-minute decisions, her funeral has finally come. In the early morning hours of Sept 19, world leaders, family members, and royal family member fans gathered around Westminster Abbey to pay their respects.
With over 2,000 guests in attendance at the State funeral, it’s been a bit chaotic to see who’s coming. But out of the thousands, onlookers have been able to see leaders like Japan’s Emperor Naruhito, New Zealand‘s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived. And this is only a few of the amount coming to the funeral.

US President Joe Biden & Jill Biden
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were one of the first to arrive at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, keeping a low profile throughout their visit. They were also one of the only ones to use their own car to arrive. Joe has been the US president since early 2021.
French President Emmanuel Macron & Brigitte Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife of 15 years Brigitte Macron arrived for the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey. He has been the French president since 2017.
Japan’s Emperor Naruhito & Empress Masako
Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and his wife Empress Masako also arrived early for the State Funeral. He has been emperor since 2019, and the two have been married since 1993.
New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern
New Zealand’s esteemed Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern arrived at the Queen’s State Funeral alongside her fiancé Clarke Gayford. She’s been Prime Minister of New Zealand for two terms, starting back in 2017.
Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese & Jodie Haydon
Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his partner of two years Jodie Haydon also arrived early at the State Funeral to pay their respects. He has been Prime Minister since May 2022.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau & Sophie Grégoire Trudeau
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife of 17 years Sophie Grégoire Trudeau arrived to pay their respects, holding hands as they walked in. He has been the Canadian Prime Minister since 2015.
President of Ireland Michael D Higgins
President of Ireland Michael D Higgins arrived solo to pay his respects to the departed Queen. He’s been in office for over a decade, since 2011.
Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella & His Daughter Laura Mattarella
Italy’s President of seven years Sergio Mattarella and his eldest daughter Laura Mattarella came to the State Funeral together to pay their respects.
China’s Vice President Wang Qishan
