During the star-studded awards season, some award shows are more well-known than others. Though just about everyone has heard of and tuned into the Golden Globes and Academy Awards at least once, some other awards, like the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, still go under the radar.
Nevertheless, the London-based award show, which was held on Feb 5, still brought a star-studded lineup including Cate Blanchett, Florence Pugh, Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan.
During the show, Blanchett was named the night’s big winner as she nabbed the Actress of the Year award for her role in Tár, per The Hollywood Reporter. The movie’s director, Todd Field, also won Director of the Year.
Another big winner of the night was the Irish movie The Banshees of Inisherin which took home five prizes including British/Irish film of the year, screenwriter of the year, actor of the year for Colin Farrell, and both supporting actor and supporting actress for Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon. What a sweep!
On the carpet, stars turned heads in fun yet sophisticated looks. Blanchett, for example, gave her spin on a classic black suit with silk ruched sleeves. Check out some of the night’s best red carpet looks below!
