Whether it was the Oscars arrivals or the after-parties, a bunch of our favorite celebrities couldn’t resist arriving in some jaw-dropping ballgowns straight out of a Disney film.
Starting in the early afternoon of March 12, almost all of Hollywood came to dazzle and amaze at the Oscars — but it didn’t stop there because the afterparties brought our celebrities’ fashion A-game. Whether it was at the Dolby Theater or the Soho House, so many of our favorite A-listers decided to unleash their inner royalty.
While we adore chic suits and vibrant A-line dresses, something about a ball gown just hits differently. Now, we’ve seen some head-turning ensembles on the Oscars red carpet over the years (yes, we’re referring to Björk’s Marjan Pejoski swan dress from 2001 and Gwyneth Paltrow’s baby pink gown from 1999!) But those can be a bit controversial.
However, who can hate a ballgown? No matter the color or style, we can’t resist a gorgeous ball gown — and we know you’re the same!
From the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party to the award show arrivals, let’s see some of the most dramatic gowns this year!
Below, check out some of the most incredibly dramatic ball gowns at the 2023 Oscars red carpet arrivals and after-parties.
