To put it bluntly, quite a few of the invitees to King Charles III’s coronation have raised a few eyebrows. Not only have they snubbed Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and the Duchess of York, but they’ve invited some people that could cause some seriously awkward encounters. The latest one that people are shocked to hear about is Queen Camilla’s ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

Now, people who aren’t big fans of the royal family may initially think this is a bit of an odd move to invite your ex to your new husband’s coronation, but it’s not like that. One friend said to The Times that “They are joined at the hip. He arranges so much for her. They have lunch together the whole time. He’s right in there. He was always, and still is, Camilla’s co-conspirator.”

You may be thinking, “What about Charles?” Well, they’re friends too! Not only did they play polo on the same team, per the Mirror, but he was even in attendance at Charles and Camilla’s wedding.

So, where would the awkward situation be at? There’s one of two possibilities. For one thing, Andrew and Princess Anne had a relationship back in the 1970s, before he married Camilla (but it seems they remain on amicable terms!) Along with that, sources reported to the Times that Andrew is a bit of a wild card guest. Per the sources, he is said to be “a bit of a rogue” and “very naughty with women.” So, erm, do with that what you will.
