Who Did Kate Bosworth Play in ‘Blue Crush?’
For those that don’t know, one of Bosworth’s most iconic roles was playing Anne Marie Chadwick in the 2002 cult classic Blue Crush.
What Is ‘Blue Crush’ About?
While Bosworth’s surfer character preparing for a big comeback in a surfing competition, she’s battling her feelings for a football player. Along with that her friends are trying to get on the waves as well, and helping raise Bosworth’s character’s little sister Penny since their mother left.
What Drew Kate Bosworth to the Character?
In a 2022 interview with Vulture, she talked about what drew her to the iconic character 20 years earlier. “I was reading a lot of scripts in 2001, and the parts for women were certainly not multidimensional. The ones that were exhibiting a lot of depth were quite competitive, and I was a ‘no one’ at the time,” she said. “I just felt such a deep affinity for her. If you’re lucky in your career, that happens a few times, but it’s normally just a handful. It’s usually because there are some personal crossroads in your life that happen to align with the character, and that was certainly the case with Anne Marie.”
