Katie Holmes’ 1970s-Inspired Cutout Sweater Shows She’s the Queen of Daring Street Style

Katie Holmes recently channeled major 1970s boho vibes through her New York City street style, and we’re living for the retro look.

The Dawson’s Creek alum stepped out in the Big Apple looking chic, as she always does, and her drippy cutout sweater by Dion Lee garnered major attention from style savants. Holmes rocked the oversized knit top, which featured a navy and ivory geometric block pattern. The sweater had cutouts that exposed the 44-year-old’s delicate shoulders, and the sleeves were fashioned in a loosely woven structure that created the illusion of additional cutouts. The hem of the bold piece dripped into chunky strips of fringe, which added to the deconstructed, ’70s vibe of the unique sweater. If you love the look, you can snag the designer top for yourself for the luxury price of $598.

Holmes paired the funky sweater with a pair of baggy medium-wash denim. The capri-length jeans were slightly distressed around the hem, and the seams tapered from the outside to the inside of the leg to create an interesting geometric look — which worked well with her geometric sweater. The Batman Begins star accessorized with a black and white crocheted Kate Spade tote and black patent leather loafers for a look that was giving edgy 1970s coastal grandmother.

Like any fashion enthusiast, Holmes also styled her hair and makeup to fit the vibe of her outfit — it’s a whole ensemble from head-to-toe, after all. She wore her chocolate tresses pin-straight with a center part and rimmed her eyes with black eyeliner, playing up the retro aesthetic of the look. Check out the photos HERE.
