Diane Sawyer’s Enchanting Martha’s Vineyard Home Hits the Market for $24 Million

From her bombshell 1995 interview with Michael Jackson and his then-wife Lisa Marie Presley to her most recent conversation with Jeremy Renner after his near-fatal ski-mobile accident, Diane Sawyer has landed a number of incredible interviews and newsworthy moments throughout her career. And, just like her nack for executing riveting interviews, her real-estate taste is quite impressive too.

In fact, on August 17, Sawyer listed her incredible Martha’s Vineyard compound that is as enchanting as it is expansive, per Robb Report. The estate, which covers a whopping 20 acres and is listed at a total of $24 million, was bought by the former Good Morning America host and her late husband Mike Nichols in 1995 and has been thoroughly renovated since.

Per the Wall Street Journal, Sawyer decided to list the property because “the rhythms of summer have changed” as her family grew, which led to “less free time for long visits to the island.”

Despite wanting to say goodbye to it, however, Sawyer said her family will always treasure the memories they shared in the home. “Five grandchildren have run through the halls, learned to swim in the warm waters, gathered moss in the forest,” she told the outlet. “At Thanksgiving, both enormous fireplaces in the great room give off warmth and golden light. We have always felt so lucky to be together in this magic place.”

The enchanting main house covers 5,000 square feet and has a total of five bedrooms, and is the stuff of your cottagecore dreams with an exterior that looks like it is straight out of a fairytale. The New England-style home, which was built in the 1940s, has an incredible wooden structure that extends from the vaulted beams to the French-style doors. In the bedrooms, the owner of the home and their guests can enjoy a mesmerizing waterfront view.

Outside the main home, the property also has an expansive swimming pool, a Har-Tru tennis court, a two-bedroom caretaker’s cottage, two modern beach cottages, and two more detached guest bedroom suites known as the Pond and Ocean pavilions. One of the guest suites with it’s very own al fresco dining area outside. Such a dreamy set-up!
