Droves of people around the world are eagerly awaiting Britney Spears’ highly anticipated memoir, including a celebrity peer who’s been working on a memoir of her own.
On Thursday, Jada Pinkett Smith shared a video on Instagram announcing the release date for her book. “My memoir, Worthy, comes out October 17, so I wanna start sharing some of the process with you that it took to write this book,” she said. “Not only has it been emotionally taxing but it’s really technical, right? It’s technical to write a book.”
The Red Table Talk host continued, “Yesterday, I found out I’m on the Time‘s most anticipated books for the fall, along with Kerry Washington, who I can’t wait to read her book, as well as Barbra Streisand and Britney Spears. And I’m gonna read all of those books. So we have some good reading this fall, everybody.”
Pinkett Smith promised to share chapters from her upcoming memoir, as well as the process that went into authoring a book on her life thus far, as Worthy’s fall release date gets closer.

‘Worthy’ by Jada Pinkett Smith
As for Pinkett Smith’s memoir, the Matrix star told People in June 2023, “It’s an adventure, a search for love and self-worth.” She added, “I think people have made a lot of assumptions. And you know what? Rightfully so. I have to take ownership of that, in regards to the narrative that I’ve participated in, the falsehoods about myself.”
A press release provided to the outlet stated Worthy will detail “lessons learned in the course of a difficult but riveting journey — a rollercoaster ride from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of personal rediscovery and the celebration of authentic feminine power.”
