While female celebrities often surprise us with major hair transformations on the red carpet, from Florence Pugh’s shaven head moment at the Met Gala to Kourtney Kardashian’s platinum bob, a few male celebrities have also managed to surprise us with their hairstyle choices over the years too. In fact, many of our favorite male stars have dared to rock a divisive hairstyle down the carpet: long hair.
From Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale to Tom Brady and David Beckham, many stars have rocked shoulder-length (and beyond) locks for a series of reasons. “In truth, you know what this is? This is unemployment, this is all this is,” Bale once told Access Hollywood about his long hair back in 2011. “I haven’t worked since The Fighter and it’s nice to just not bother cutting your hair. When you’re [not] in a job that everything always has to be, you know, worked out for a character, I just sort of let it all hang out, but it’s unemployment, that’s all it is.”
So whether it was because of a style choice, for a role, or the lack thereof, check out our favorite long-haired male celebrities below!
