The cast of Vanderpump Rules have gone through many changes over the course of the show’s 11-year run. The show first aired in 2013 as a spin-off of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, following a group of 20-something-year-old servers and bartenders working in Lisa Vanderpump’s LA hotspot SUR.
Over 10 years later, we’ve seen more cheating scandals than we can name, several new bar openings, friendship fallouts, marriages, divorces and more affairs. And with season 11 airing now, there will be plenty more where that came from!
After the drama of the show’s explosive 10th season which saw Ariana Madix unearth an affair between her boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, and best friend, Raquel Leviss, we’re betting the cast are feeling weathered by the drama that has ensued — we know we are! That is why we’re looking back on seasons gone by to see how the stars have changed as the years have gone on.
To see how the cast of Vanderpump Rules have changed between their first appearance on the show and now, keep scrolling!
Lisa Vanderpump
The Queen herself, Lisa Vanderpump, has kept her class and elegance throughout all 11 seasons of the hit show, even when her staff haven’t!
Several new bars later, she is still the reigning star of the show.
Ariana Madix
Ariana Madix joined the hit Bravo show in season 2 when she started working as a bartender in SUR after moving from one of Lisa’s other bars, Villa Blanca.
From the beginning, the star was a troublemaker causing problems in Tom Sandoval and Kristen Doute’s relationship.
By season three, Sandoval and Madix were dating and remained one of the show’s main power couples until… well… you know the rest.
Tom Sandoval
The infamous Sandoval was one of the show’s original cast members. In season one, viewers were introduced to him as a bartender/model in a years-long tumultous relationship with girlfriend Kristen Doute.
Longtime viewers have seen Sandoval go from bartender to bar owner and be both the victim and perpetrator in many cheating scandals.
In an October episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, via E! News, he reflected on how public opinions of him have changed over the course of the show’s run.
“Before this whole scandal, I would meet people who had probably seen me on Vanderpump Rules, and they’d be like, ‘Oh my gosh, he’s so cool,” he explained. “And then now, people think I’m a complete narcissist, creeper vibes
Kristen Doute
Sandoval’s troubled ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute has quite the arc on the show before her season eight departure.
After many ups and downs with Sandoval, cheating with Jax Taylor, a failed romance with James Kennedy and many friend fallouts, Doute was fired from the show in 2020.
The firing came after another former cast member, Faith Stowers, claimed Doute and Stassi Schroeder filed a false police report against her.
However, Doute made a brief return to the show in season 10 to have a heart to heart with Ariana Madix after their shared ex Tom Sandoval was exposed for cheating.
Katie Maloney
Blonde Katie Maloney looks totally unrecognizable in this 2013 red carpet appearance! At the beginning of the show, Maloney was a SUR server and dating her now-ex-husband Tom Schwartz.
We watched her get married, and get divorced, leave her job and pursue opening her own sandwich shop with Ariana Madix.
Tom Schwartz
Tom Sandoval’s former roommate Tom Schwartz was first introduced to us as Katie’s model boyfriend who appeared only during cast trips or nights out. His early appearances on the show were somewhat infrequent but after making his mark, he was upgraded to a main cast member spot as the seasons went on.
When he’s not throwing drinks or fighting with Katie, Schwartz is typically getting into trouble with best friend Sandoval, trouble that is expected to play out in season 11.
Scheana Shay
So far, Scheana Shay is the only VPR cast mate who we have watched get married twice on the show so it’s safe to say she has undergone more transformations than most!
Now married to Brock Davies and a proud mom to Summer Moon, Shay couldn’t be more different from the SUR server we met in 2013!
Lala Kent
Lauren from Utah first appeared on the show in 2015 and stirred plenty of drama in her early seasons before ditching her party-girl lifestyle for sobriety and becoming a mom to 3-year-old Ocean.
Season 10 was probably Kent’s most challenging season yet after separating from former partner Randall Emmett after he was accused of sexual abuse.
Now, after recently revealing that she is in the process of conceiving her second child via IUI, we’re expecting big things for Kent soon!
James Kennedy
SUR busser-turned-DJ James Kenndey found his way on to Vanderpump Rules when he began dating Kristen Doute after her split from Sandoval.
After their very rocky romance ended in disaster, he moved on to Raquel Leviss who he dated, and was engaged to, until 2021. Now happily living with girlfriend Ally Lewber, Kennedy seems to have finally found his happiness.
Raquel Leviss
Former beauty queen Raquel Leviss was once the Bambi-eyed innocent cast member beloved by most… not all, of course. But the tide changed at the end of season 10 when Madix discovered Sandoval and Leviss’s texts and unearthed their seven-month affair.
Leviss has since left the show and is sharing her story on her podcast. In a recent episode she explained her decision not to return to the show, saying: “I knew that I wouldn’t be welcomed back and it would put me in that position of feeling fight, flight or freeze, having that extreme response and then once again only having Tom as the person that I could confide in.”
“I could just see how bad of a situation that would be for me, especially as I’m trying to put my mental health first and have some sort of stability and sanity in my life now,” she concluded.
Stassi Schroeder
Stassi Schroeder was just 24 and was the show’s youngest cast member when episode one aired. Then in a relationship with Jax Taylor, her early seasons centered on their romance and breakup.
Schroeder’s 2020 firing happened just months before she married Beau Clark, who had proposed on the previous season of the show. The couple have swapped reality TV for parenthood. They are mom and dad to a daughter born in 2021 and a son born in 2023.
Jax Taylor
Jax Taylor was long considered the villain of the show but softened in later seasons thanks to his now-wife Brittany Cartwright.
Taylor left the show is 2020 but is now set to star in a spin-off titled The Valley, alongside Brittany, Kristen Doute and new cast members.
Brittany Cartwright
Our Southern belle was introduced to our screens in 2015 when she started dating Jax. As one of the most beloved members of the show, viewers were sad to see her go in 2020.
However, since her departure she has become a mom to a son named Cruz and is now making her TV return in The Valley.
