The nominees for the 2024 Oscars were celebrated at the annual Oscar Nominees Luncheon on Feb. 12 and it was an elegant, star-studded affair.
Major stars like Lily Gladstone, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Colman Domingo, Carey Mulligan, Bradley Cooper, Billie Eilish, Robert Downey Jr. and more posed for photos outside the event at the Beverly Hilton, which was a more low-key event than we can expect to see on March 10 when the nominees go head-to-head hoping to win statues at the 96th Academy Awards.
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer leads this year’s nominations with 13 total nods in a range of categories. Nolan’s movie is closely followed by Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things which secured 11 nominations and then Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon with 10 nominations. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has eight nominations but it has been considered one of the majorly snubbed films of this year’s award show after Gerwig and lead actress Margot Robbie failed to land nominations in the Best Director and Best Actress category.
However, those stats are not what was most relevant at this year’s Oscar Nominees Luncheon, where the stars were welcomed to celebrate their achievements thus far regardless of what could happen at the Dolby Theater on March 10.
