Despite there being so many people in the world, and so many people in Hollywood, A-listers can’t help but date fellow A-listers. We’ve seen it time and time again, when two unexpected A-listers fall in love and date for quite some time. We get it, no one quite understands the life of a star like another star, so it makes sense so many of them date each other. And sometimes, even best buddies end up dating the same guy. Oddly enough, it’s happened quite a few times with Taylor Swift and her buddies.
Now, we’re not insinuating that one of her buddies or Swift stole a partner from the other. We showed all the timelines, and there was nothing shady going on, so put those cynical thoughts down the drain!
Swift has dated some of the biggest stars at the time, and sometimes, so do her buddies. For instance, two of Swift’s BFFs also dated Joe Jonas, also known as the singer she dated for a few months back in 2008.
There’s no bad blood here. All of Swift’s friendships mentioned are still seemingly going strong, and (most) of these men are a thing of the past. But let’s take a walk down memory lane.

Sophie Turner & Taylor Swift
Both Sophie Turner and Taylor Swift dated Joe Jonas. Swift dated Jonas back in the summer of 2008, and revealed he broke up with her in a 25-second phone call after a few months together.
Then, Turner and Jonas started dating in 2017, married in 2019, and later welcomed two children before divorcing in Sept 2023.
Turner made it very clear that she was still a Swiftie, even while married to her idol’s ex, but their friendship really proved its strength when Swift supported Turner through her split from Jonas.
In a May 2024 interview with British Vogue, Turner called Swift a “hero” for letting her and her daughters live in her New York apartment immediately after she separated from Jonas.
Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez
BFFs Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have actually dated the same guy at one point: Taylor Lautner. Gomez and Lautner dated for a few months back in 2009 after they met while filming separate projects in Canada.
In that same year, Swift and Lautner started dating after meeting on the set of Valentine’s Day, but brokeup in Dec of that same year.
Besties Gomez and Swift have known each other since 2008, when they were both dating members of the Jonas Brothers. Since then, they’ve been virtually inseparable.
Taylor Swift & Ellie Goulding
In case you didn’t know, both Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding have dated Calvin Harris. Goulding and Harris dated briefly back in 2013, but it was seemingly just a fling. As for Harris and Swift, they started dating back in 2015, and dated for over a year until Harris called it off.
Swift and Goulding were close back in the early 2010s, and Goulding was even featured in Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video. However, after the mid-2010s, they haven’t been seen together, but many believe they just keep their friendship private.
Taylor Swift & Cara Delevingne
Another couple you may have forgotten about was when both Taylor Swift and Cara Delevingne dated Harry Styles.
In case you don’t remember, Swift and Styles dated from March 2012 to Jan 2013, but have remained amicable since then. As for Styles and Delevingne, they were linked together soon after, during the summer of 2013.
Swift and Delevingne have been pals for nearly a decade, with Delevingne consistently having Swift’s back. In fact, it turns out they even lived together, per Variety.
Taylor Swift & Gigi Hadid
Yet another star in Taylor Swift’s inner circle was linked to one of her exes, this time with her and Gigi Hadid. They’ve both dated Joe Jonas at one point. We know Swift and Jonas were together in 2008, but Jonas and Hadid dated briefly in 2015 after meeting years prior.
Now, Swift and Hadid have been buddies for a decade, after meeting at the 2014 Oscars afterparty.
Taylor Swift & Katy Perry
Despite their years-long feud, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are, in fact, pals again. Along with that, both of them dated John Mayer. Mayer and Swift dated for a few months in 2009 to 2010, while he and Perry were together for three years, from 2012 to 2015.
