On March 14, many of our favorite stars in Hollywood joined to celebrate the fair and accurate representation of LGBTQ+ members in the media at the 35th Annual GLAAD Awards.
Among the big winners of the night were Fellow Travelers, a show that received the award for Best Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Ted Lasso, which received the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, Yellowjackets, which received the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series and Reneé Rapp, who won the award for Outstanding Music Artist.
Also honored was Oprah Winfrey, who won the Vanguard Award, and Niecy Nash Betts, who the Stephen F. Kolzak Award. “I thank you all for holding space for me, ‘til I figure my terms out,” the Emmy winner said in her speech. “What I do know for sure is that my name is Niecy Nash-Betts and I’m a lover. I will never hide the very thing I was created for.”
