In this year’s Variety Power of Women event in NYC, four stars were celebrated for their work and impact in their fields. The coveted four honorees were Law & Order: Special Victims Unit powerhouse Mariska Hargitay, Grey’s Anatomy creatorShonda Rhimes, Beth & Life star Amy Schumer and Brazilian funk superstar Anitta.
To celebrate their accomplishments, the honorees, their presenters, and many other familiar faces joined on May 2 for the NYC event.
“She’s such an inspiration,” Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine, who presented Anitta with her award, told SheKnows of the “Envolver” singer. “I’m so proud of her and everything she’s doing. I feel really honored to be here to honor her.”
“She’s such an ambassador of our country and our culture so it’s so nice to see her achieving great things so this is a really nice moment,” Marquezine continued.
