Ashley Graham has been the pinnacle of spreading body positivity in the modeling industry and fashion industry, frequently talking about the disparities in sizes and inclusivity. She’s been an advocate for so many and also a true fashion icon on nearly every single red carpet that she goes on, including the Met Gala.
Graham has only been to a handful of Met Galas over the years, but every time she has gone on the red carpet, she has captivated fans, and her most recent look at the 2023 Met Gala honoring Karl Lagerfeld was arguably her best-to-date.

Tonight, the 2024 Met Gala will be hosting the theme of “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” so we’re expecting the most ethereal like we’ve seen from Graham yet. (Hint: we were right).

While the 2017 Met Gala was all about honoring Comme des Garçons, that didn’t mean you had to wear something from the label. The dress code was really to wear unconvential, avant-garde looks. For this, Graham donned a red and white H&M dress that had floral appliques throughout to give it movement and flair.
2018: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”
The theme was all about heavenly looks and visuals from the Catholic imagination, and so Graham kept things sparkling with this Prabal Gurung gown.
2019: “Camp: Notes on Fashion”
This look was camp, and to complete this colorful look, Graham donned a checkered red, white, and green Gucci blazer, along with jewelry from Amwaj and Hueb and Brumani.
2023: “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”
For 2023, the Met Gala honored designer Karl Lagerfeld with “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” and for the occasion, Graham was one of the best dressed of the night. She donned a truly dramatic pink and black custom gown from Harris Reed that honored the 80s Chanel Haute Couture.
2024: “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”
For the 2024 Met Gala, Graham turned heads with this black, floral Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress.
