For those who don’t know her story, Macpherson got her big break into the modeling industry back in 1980, when she traveled to New York City during her gap year before college. After a year in college in Sydney, she returned to The Big Apple and pursued her modeling career. Countless runway shows and fashion campaigns later, she made her acting debut in Sirens in 1994. She then starred in many movies and TV shows including Batman & Robin, The Edge and Friends and dabbled in hosting shows like Fashion Star and Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. Nowadays, Macpherson runs her wellness and beauty brand, WelleCo.

“I feel incredible,” she told Welle Co. ahead of her 60th birthday earlier this year. “I think that’s the most important thing. I just love that sense of vitality and I’m grateful for my life, I’m grateful for my journey and I am loving turning 60.”

Loving herself and her body, however, was quite a journey “I spent many years tending to my outer appearance as ‘The Body’ and really living up to other people’s expectations of me,” she said. “Today I find my life way more fulfilling and enriching as I focus on my inner wellbeing and balance because that delivers peace and joy and love.”
