2015 has been a rocky year for these celebrities.
Scott Disick
Scott Disick spurred further speculation over his breakup with Kourtney Kardashian in July when incriminating photos captured him getting handsy with celebrity stylist Chloé Bartoli. That same month, he was allegedly caught partying with underage girls. Disick has since entered rehab, but he and Kardashian remain split up as of now.
Josh Duggar
In May, Duggar became the center of a public firestorm after newly uncovered police reports revealed that he sexually molested four girls, including two of his sisters. Following the scandal, Josh resigned from his job at the Family Research Council, and TLC decided to officially cancel 19 Kids and Counting and all other Duggar-related specials. Duggar faced more controversy just a couple months later when the Ashley Madison hack revealed he had two accounts on the site. He later admitted to cheating on his wife and being addicted to pornography.
Brian Williams
The former NBC Nightly News anchor was suspended from his post after it was uncovered that he made up a story about a harrowing experience in Iraq. After several more inaccurate statements and fallacies were found in his reports of various news-related events, he was reassigned to breaking news and special events coverage on MSNBC in June 2015.
Bill Cosby
??Cosby’s fall from grace has continued well into 2015, with several more women coming forward with sexual assault allegations against him. Making matters even more horrifying? In July, unsealed court documents from a 2005 lawsuit revealed that Cosby admitted to drugging young women? that he wanted to have sex with. ????
Tom Brady
After the Patriots beat the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC championship and went on to win Super Bowl XLIX, Brady and his New England teammates faced major heat when it came out that the team used purposefully deflated footballs in the game against the Colts. Brady himself was referenced in the report that came out of the NFL investigation, leading to a four-game suspension. The suspension was eventually overturned, but not before everyone in the world – including Jon Stewart – ripped Brady apart for his involvement.
Ariana Grande
People were none too happy with Grande earlier this summer, when the singer was caught on tape licking doughnuts that she hadn’t purchased and proclaiming ,”I hate Americans. I hate America.” She later wrote a two-page apology letter, in which she blamed her statements on the issue of childhood obesity. Donutgate didn’t end there. After no one bought into her written statement, she then issued a video apology.
Bobbi Kristina Brown
Bobbi Kristina Brown tragically died this summer after spending months in a medically induced coma. Brown, who was found unresponsive in a bathtub in January, spent weeks in hospice care, during which the feud between her relatives got increasingly ugly. First, TMZ reported that an extended family member was shopping a photo of Whitney Houston’s daughter lying on her bed at a hospice facility. Her aunt Leolah Brown later unleashed a public rant against the Houston side of the family, specifically Pat Houston. Brown’s funeral was marred with family drama, when the two at-odds aunts reportedly got into an altercation.
Rosie O’Donnell
O’Donnell made headlines when she issued a statement reporting her teenage daughter, Chelsea, was missing. Only days after she was found and brought home, Chelsea left home again, first to live with her birth mother and then reportedly moving in with her heroin dealer boyfriend. Since then, she has also spoken out against O’Donnell, telling the Daily Mail that the star actually kicked her out of the house — and threw her out a second time after the police brought her home.
Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner made countless headlines this year after opening up about her transition through several hugely public interviews and her show, I Am Cait. But she also stirred up some controversy when she was involved in a deadly chain-reaction crash in February. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has said Jenner was not driving over the speed limit, but was driving “at an unsafe speed for the road conditions that day.” Though the reality show star initially faced possible misdemeanor or manslaughter charges, the DA eventually declined to press charges against Jenner.
Justin Bieber
Who could possibly forget Penisgate 2015? The whole world saw more of Bieber than it ever wanted to see, when paparazzi captured nude photos of the singer while he vacationed in Bora Bora. The photos quickly went viral, and things got even more awkward when Bieber’s dad took to Twitter to write, “What do you feed that thing? #proud daddy.” Bieber said he felt extremely “violated” by the pictures, but defended his father, saying, “It’s such a dad thing to say.”
Giuliana Rancic
Rancic spurred major public backlash after she made an offensive joke about Zendaya’s dreadlocks during an episode of Fashion Police. Zendaya called her remarks “pure disrespect,” and Rancic later issued several apologies, including an on-air mea culpa. But the drama didn’t exactly end there. Things intensified when Kelly Osbourne threatened to quit the show over the comments (she eventually did leave the show).
Khloe & Lamar
Lamar Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel after a reported drug overdose. He was rushed to a local hospital where he spent four days in a coma. After waking up and showing minor signs of improvement, he was transferred to a hospital in Los Angeles. Estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has been by his side the whole time, and the two have even called off their divorce for the time being, instead choosing to focus their attention on the months of recovery that Odom has ahead of him.
Kristen Taekman
The Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman’s husband, Josh Taekman, was caught in a scandal, when his name surfaced among the more than 37 million Ashley Madison account holders whose personal information was leaked. He later released a statement to E! News, saying, “I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family.”
