It’s safe to say things have gotten nasty between Jon and Kate Gosselin, the couple who became famous for navigating the twists and turns of handling an adorable, albeit large, young family on TLC’s Jon and Kate Plus 8. Since their split in 2009, stones have been cast by both parties and the accusations are not pretty. Here’s a timeline of all the claims made regarding both Jon and Kate.

The first accusation, which came just before the couple split, was actually made by an outside party. The brother of a female “friend” of Jon’s claims that the friend and Jon had been having an affair for three months. Both Jon and Kate deny the claim.

Divorce papers are filed, and Kate more or less says she’s afraid of her husband. “Over the course of this weekend, Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children,” she says in a statement.

Kate accuses Jon of turning into a different person. “I remember just looking at him and thinking, ‘I wouldn’t choose to marry that exact person right now… So why am I here?'” she tells People magazine.

In court documents he files asking for sole custody, Jon says Kate’s involvment in Dancing With the Stars is damaging their children. He calls her “an absentee mom” who does not spend “quality time with the eight kids” and says his $20,000 a month child-support bill is “ridiculous.”

Kate files a lawsuit seeking compensatory and punitive damages as well as court fees and actual damages for identity theft, wiretapping and invasion of privacy after claiming that Jon gave personal information, obtained by hacking into her computer, phone and hard drive, to a tabloid reporter writing a book about her.
