It’s almost here: The Jungle Book is scheduled to hit theaters April 14, 2016, and we are all extremely excited about it.
After watching the trailer, many are left to wonder which actors are playing what role, due to some familiar voices and a familiar face. This new rendition of the film is filled with several household names that we just absolutely adore, and they all perfectly fit the role of the character that they play. Take a look at this slideshow to see exactly who is in the new movie.
Neel Sethi as Mowgli
This adorable young child definitely exceeded all expectations in the trailer, and will definitely do the same in the full movie.
Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha
Nyong’o plays the role of the extremely detailed and lifelike wolf, Raksha, who is Mowgli’s adoptive mother.
Ben Kingsley as Bagheera
Kingsley has taken on the role of Mowgli’s mentor, Bagheera.
Bill Murray as Baloo
Baloo is known for his comedic humor, so it only makes sense to cast Murray as the voice in this film.
Christopher Walken as King Louie
Orangutans are known for their high levels of intelligence. King Louie exemplifies that, and he’s also really large.
Idris Elba as Shere Khan
The realistic and intimidating tiger, Shere Khan, is extremely ferocious in the trailer. Elba will definitely be just as ferocious in the film.
Hannah Tointon as Winifred
Elephants, like the Indian elephants in this movie, make very protective mothers and take family very seriously, just like Winifred.
Giancarlo Esposito as Akela
Although pictures of Akela haven’t surfaced just yet, one can only imagine how a protective leader of the wolf pack will look.
Scarlett Johansson as Kaa
Johansson helps complete Kaa, mimicking her smoothness and seduction in an attempt to harm Mowgli.
Ralph Ineson as Rama
Even though Rama’s digital picture hasn’t surfaced yet, he is the one who discovers Mowgli after he hears him outside of his home.
