The Daily Show has helped to launch the careers of many comedians and actors, including John Oliver, Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell, who all served as news correspondents on the show. Here is a look at what The Daily Show‘s past correspondents are up to now.
Steve Carell: Then
Steve Carell served as a Daily Show correspondent from 1999 to 2005, creating such memorable segments as Even Stevphen and Produce Pete.

Carell has since gone on to win network television as Michael Scott on The Office before taking over the big screen with memorable roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Anchorman and the Academy Award-nominated Foxcatcher.
Ed Helms: Then
Before he too joined the cast of The Office, funnyman Ed Helms was a Daily Show field reporter in addition to hosting segments such as Digital Watch, Ad Nauseam, and Mark Your Calendar.

In addition to his successful term as Andy Bernard on The Office, Helms also starred in The Hangover franchise and will next be seen in the upcoming Alejandro González Iñárritu drama The One Percent on Starz.
Rob Corddry: Then
Senior correspondent Rob Corddry served on The Daily Show from 2002 to 2007, and even filled in for Stewart at the big desk during the birth of the host’s second child.

Corddry has since gone on to crack audiences up in Arrested Development, Hot Tub Time Machine, and his two-time Emmy award-winning comedy Children’s Hospital on Adult Swim.
Josh Gad: Then
Actor Josh Gad worked as a Daily Show correspondent from 2009 to 2011, reporting from parades, demolition derbies and even once playing Benjamin Franklin.

Gad has since gone on to have a successful film and television career, including voice-over work that saw him most recently playing Olaf in Disney’s Frozen.

Comedian Michael Che was a Daily Show correspondent for just three months before getting tapped by SNL.

Comedian Wyatt Cenac was a writer and correspondent on The Daily Show from 2008 to 2012.

Stephen Colbert started on The Daily Show in 1997, where he quickly became an integral part of the news team, and stayed on as a correspondent until 2005.

After honing his alter-Colbert persona on The Daily Show, Colbert went on to star in his own incredibly successful half-hour program, The Colbert Report, on Comedy Central. He will soon be seen on CBS as he takes over The Late Show desk now that David Letterman is retiring.
Olivia Munn: Then
Olivia Munn served as a Daily Show correspondent from 2010 to 2011. Before that, she had hosted a video game program called Attack of the Show.

Munn has since gone on to star in Aaron Sorkin’s acclaimed HBO drama The Newsroom, as well as in feature films including Magic Mike and Mortdecai. Munn will once again be found on the big screen in the upcoming Ride Along 2.
John Oliver: Then
John Oliver was a writer and the Senior British Correspondent from 2006 to 2013, where he delivered tons of British brilliance to his reports. Oliver filled in for Jon Stewart as host while Stewart was making his directorial debut with Rosewater, earning the respect of HBO, which promptly hired him to host his own show.

Oliver now hosts Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO. The show is a weekly news-satire show much like The Daily Show, but Oliver has been using long-form journalism to dig into serious news stories, earning him accolades from both the media and fans alike.
Larry Wilmore: Then
Writer and actor Larry Wilmore served as the Senior Black Correspondent on The Daily Show from 2006 through 2013, only recently leaving to host his own half-hour show on Comedy Central.
Larry Wilmore: Now
Wilmore now hosts The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore on Comedy Central. Wilmore’s show, a panel-style late-night comedy, took over Colbert’s slot after The Daily Show, and is produced by Jon Stewart.

Actor, funnyman and retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel Rob Riggle served as a Daily Show correspondent from 2006 to 2009.
