Ugh, body-shaming. Can we seriously just be over this BS already? We just can’t figure out what anybody has to gain by degrading another person’s physical appearance. It’s not funny or witty, it doesn’t accomplish anything but hurting someone else, and it certainly doesn’t make the shamer feel any better about their own selves — so what gives?
One of our favorite celebs of all time, Jennifer Aniston, shares in our confusion.
“It’s a weird obsession that people have, and I don’t understand exactly why they need to take people who are out there to entertain you and rip them apart and bully them,” Aniston recently said to Vogue.
And though it seems that women typically bear the brunt of body-shaming, male celebs are certainly not exempt from the cruelty. Don’t believe us? Check out these 13 times men were publicly fat-shamed. These guys have been publicly scrutinized for their fluctuating weight, and it’s not cool.
