Bachelor in Paradise may have a better track record for successful couples than other Bachelor Nation shows do, but that doesn’t mean all their relationships end with happily ever after. Far from it, in fact.
With Bachelor in Paradise Season 3 premiering this Tuesday, we’re taking a look back at the fate of couples from the show who thought they’d found their forever.
Michelle & Cody: Separated but together
Cody Sattler and Michelle Money are hands down the strangest Bachelor in Paradise couple. The two were unexpected from the beginning, but they walked away from the show with a seemingly healthy relationship. They even defied the odds and stayed together post-filming but announced their breakup in December 2014. Still, it wasn’t completely over for the couple, who are now on Marriage Boot Camp together. Despite claims that the two are just doing the show for a paycheck and the fame, Money and Sattler are standing by their decisions.
Cassandra & Jonathan: Splitsville
Cassandra Ferguson and Jonathan Holloway were definitely a Bachelor in Paradise surprise. The two didn’t get together until after the second season aired, but they seemed to be head over heels for each other. All signs pointed to a successful, long-term relationship in the making. Unfortunately the two went their separate ways after only a few months of dating.
Chris & Elise: Definitely dunzo
Chris Bukowski and Elise Mosca had a complicated Bachelor in Paradise relationship, but that didn’t stop her from leaving the show with him when Bukowski injured his knee and couldn’t continue. Unfortunately her grand gesture to start a relationship with Bukowski didn’t end well. He reportedly broke her heart just a short month after returning home.
Samantha & Nick: Over before it began
Samantha Steffen played a dirty Bachelor in Paradise game. When Steffen came onto the show, she was already talking to both Nick Peterson and Joe Bailey. She ultimately chose Peterson in the long run, but they reportedly broke up following the show because they couldn’t make a long-distance relationship work.
Marcus & Lacy: Fake married
Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul’s love story went from Bachelor in Paradise fairy tale to horror story. They’re now, no doubt, the most notorious couple in the show’s history. After seemingly married during Season 2 of the show, it was revealed in June that the entire marriage was a fake. Not only was the marriage a fake, but the relationship was a sham as well. Grodd revealed to Life & Style that Faddoul had barely talked to him since the cameras stopped rolling. Needless to say, it doesn’t look like a real marriage is happening for these two anytime soon.
Jade & Tanner: Real married… we think
Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert might be Bachelor in Paradise‘s only truly successful relationship. The couple married on Jan. 24, 2016, in a lavish wedding that was aired on ABC. They are even already busy growing their family… by adopting a puppy, that is.
Nick & Jen: Split before the finale
Nick Viall and Jen Saviano seemed to hit it off big time during their time on the island. But their relationship was extra doomed. Before their breakup even played out onscreen, Viall was announced as the upcoming Bachelor, so fans knew it was coming before he dumped her — even after picking out his Nial Lane engagement ring.
Amanda & Josh: Still going strong!
Amanda Stanton was all about Josh Murray from the moment he stepped onto the Paradise beach. After viewers saw (and heard) them make out pretty much constantly all season, it was no surprise to anyone when they got engaged. And they’re still going strong months later — Murray even too Stanton’s two daughters to Disneyland, and of course, documented the adorable outing on Instagram.
Grant & Lace: Mututally broken up
It probably should come as no surprise that “Grace” didn’t make it long past filming — these two had way too much combined crazy. Still, it’s hard to imagine either of them finding such complementary crazy in anyone but each other, which made it great to watch their love story — complete with drunken threats and screaming matches — play out. They haven’t closed the door on getting back together at some point, so maybe there’s still hope.
Carly & Evan: Taking it slow
Carly Waddell and Evan Bass have handled love in the real world just like they did on the show: by taking it slow. They’re living together in Nashville, but they haven’t set a date for their wedding. Still, they’re seen publicly on cute dates all the time, so things seem to still be going great in their paradise.
