Could getting married to a complete stranger actually work? With the help of expert matchmakers, that’s exactly what the FYI series Married at First Sight is trying to find out. And with the premiere of the show’s fourth season, there are now 12 different couples who have put their trust in the social experiment and said “I do” to the person who, on paper, should be their perfect match. But where are they now? Did any of the couples make it?
Jamie & Doug
Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis have to be one of Married at First Sight’s greatest success stories. Despite Otis ending up in tears after first meeting Hehner at the altar in Season 1, the two are now happily married and have been facing life’s ups and downs by each other’s side — including Otis’ recent devastating miscarriage of their first child and the release of Otis’ new book, Wifey 101.
Cortney & Jason
As for Cortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion, this Season 1 pair has been going strong since the moment they married at first sight. However, they’ve had their own struggles as well. While there’s been no official talk of any babies on the way, Hendrix and Carrion have been dealing with their fair share of financial issues as they settle into their lives together. But, with laughter as their best medicine, there’s no stopping them now.
Monet & Vaughn
However, not all of the couples in Season 1 had a happily ever after. Monet Bell and Vaughn Copeland may have jumped right into their wedding bed the night they met, but soon divorced at the end of Season 1. Bell and Copeland are now long separated and don’t even talk to each other. Bell is now headlining her new series, #BlackLove.

Sean & Davina
When Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio’s relationship first started in Season 2, you could barely keep them apart from one another. However, by the time the show ended, they were the only Season 2 couple adamant about getting a divorce. They have since accused one another of bullying and have proven that their strong personalities can’t mesh well in the long term. Now, Varricchio is moving forward with his life by focusing on his personal business endeavors. He also publicly announced on Twitter during the premiere of Season 4 that he no longer follows the show. “I have no ill feelings but I have moved on in life,” he said.

Jessica & Ryan D.
Things may have seemed to be going well between these two in the beginning. But, unfortunately, things got messy long after they decided to stay together on the show. Season 2’s Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino ended up getting a divorce and Castro ended up filing a restraining order against her ex. After reportedly receiving death threats, Castro cut all ties and has been working as a print model in New York City.

Jaclyn & Ryan R.
In the end, Season 2 seemed to have a messy ending for all the couples involved. Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone decided to stay together, but ultimately got divorced as well. Since then, Methuen has been traveling and going out with her girls to look for love and celebrate her newfound return to the single life.

Sam & Neil
Sam Role and Neil Bowlus’ split at the end of Season 3 was nothing less than heartbreaking. After Role said she wanted to stay married and Bowlus revealed he wanted to get a divorce, Role immediately ran off crying. But, where are they now? Well, in the March 2016 six months special, both Role and Bowlus were able to self-reflect on their relationship. And Role assured fans that they’re friends and still “enjoy each other’s company.” All that’s left to do is keep our fingers crossed that they will reconnect — especially since they’re not officially divorced yet.
Tres & Vanessa
And it seems like time apart is something that could be working well for the couples in Season 3. Because, despite Tres Russell and Vanessa Nelson deciding to remain married at the end of the show, they did eventually get divorced. It ended as a result of their feelings fading, but perhaps there could still be hope for the future, as Russell remains single and has been keeping in touch with the rest of his MAFS crew.

David & Ashley
It seems as though ever since day one, this couple was off to a bad start. Between their lack of communication and lack of attraction to one another, it really came as no surprise when they got a divorce. And, since their time on the show, things between them haven’t gotten much better. David Norton has since lost all hope of winning back Ashley Doherty and has been keeping in touch with his MAFS friends while looking to take this experience to find love elsewhere.

Lillian & Tom
Lillian Vilchez and Tom Wilson just started their journey together on Season 4 of the show. But what can we expect? Well, based on their time down the aisle, they seem to be full of nothing but joy and relief about being paired with one another. They seem to continuously have more and more in common and now all that’s left to do is watch and see what happens next.
Derek & Heather
And they’re not the only Season 4 couple that already has a promising future ahead of them. Derek Schwartz and Heather Seidel could not stop smiling at each other at the altar, and their immediate connection to each other and their families just keeps growing. Let’s just hope Schwartz’s intimacy with Seidel doesn’t get too uncomfortable for the blushing bride.
Sonia & Nick
However, all of the couples in Season 4 didn’t start off in the most comfortable of ways. Sonia Granados and Nick Pendergrast’s nerves seemed to get the better of them when they were saying “I do.” But if their journey is anything like Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis’, then perhaps there’s still time for it to blossom into something special. Pendergrast just has to get past his shyness with time.
