Castle got the ax, but none of the cast stayed unemployed for very long!
Stana Katic
Katic may have gotten fired by ABC before Castle was even canceled, but she’s not letting it break her career stride.
She will star in Nassim Soleimanpour’s experimental play, White Rabbit Red Rabbit, Sept. 26 at the Westside Theater in New York City and her Lifetime movie, Sister Cities, will make its debut on Sept. 17. The movie co-stars Michelle Trachtenberg and Troian Bellisario.
Nathan Fillion
At the TCA summer press tour in early August, Modern Family executive producer Steven Levitan announced Fillion will be joining his cast for Season 8.
Fillion will enjoy a multiple-episode arc on Mod Fam as “a local weatherman who gets involved with the Dunphys.”
Susan Sullivan
Sullivan said goodbye to Castle and her character Martha Rodgers, but she will be keeping her talents at ABC.
Sullivan is slated to play Vice Principal Murray’s mother in Season 2 of The Real O’Neals, according to TVLine.
Jon Huertas
Huertas joins the ensemble cast of the highly anticipated NBC show This Is Us. He will recur as Mike, the best friend and co-worker of Milo Ventimiglia’s character Jack, according to TV Fanatic.
This Is Us premieres on Sept. 20.
Seamus Dever
Dever, who played Detective Kevin Ryan on Castle, hasn’t made any official project announcements yet, but on Aug. 18 he posted an auspicious photo to Instagram from a set with the caption, “And life goes on… #stage12.”
Clearly, something is on the horizon.
Tamala Jones
Jones has also yet to formally announce what she’s been working on since she departed from playing Lanie Parish, but like Dever, she has hinted she has something in the works on social media.
She also seems to be enjoying the heck out of her summer.
Molly C. Quinn
Quinn, who played Alexis Castle, has three projects coming down the pipe: a short called Rainfall, a comedy titled Newly Single, and a movie called Last Rampage that also stars Heather Graham.
Sunkrish Bala
According to his IMDB page, Bala has a bunch of projects he’s currently involved in, including a TV show called Couch People and a movie titled The Thinning that stars Peyton List.
Toks Olagundoye
Olagundoye recently teased on Snapchat that she will guest star on a new TV show coming up soon, and confirmed on Twitter that she will let fans know what show it is in good time.
