Sometimes Hollywood couples have quite the love stories, including newlyweds Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf. Since they tied the knot on Monday, Oct. 10 (as first reported by TMZ), some of you may be wondering about their interesting love story, like how they first met.
Well, go no further, because it’s time to discuss Goth and LaBeouf’s Hollywood love story.
How they met
Like many other celebrity couples, it seems Goth and LaBeouf first met while filming a movie together — the 2013 film Nymphomaniac: Volume II. The film title is pretty self-explanatory, but it revolves around the obsession of sex.
Clearly the movie brought them together in serious ways, because ever since filming, they’ve been inseparable. So much so, they are now married.
They have a lot in common
According to a source who spoke with Radar Online in November 2012, Goth and LaBeouf have a lot in common. “He got to know Mia on set and quickly became enamored of her,” the source said. “They have similar interests — they love alternative music, thrift stores, and she is edgy and funny, which Shia loves.”
They like to work together
In addition to Nymphomaniac: Volume II, these two have worked on another project. LaBeouf directed Goth in his 2014 short Haunted Love. The short film was also accompanied by the Future Unlimited song of the same name and starred the band’s lead singer, David Miller, in addition to Goth.
The infamous fight
In July 2015, Goth and LaBeouf got into an altercation in Europe. Entertainment Tonight even obtained video footage of their fight, where the two were taped yelling at each other outside a taxi by a hotel. After yelling at each other for a while, LaBeouf was also heard saying, “If I’d have stayed there, I would have killed her.”
All those engagements
On more than one occasion, there were rumors that these two were engaged. Neither of them ever confirmed any of them, but the most recent engagement news was in March. Apparently, a source told Us Weekly, they were grocery shopping and told the cashier they were getting married. The source also said Goth was wearing a “large diamond ring.”
Before that, in February, during LaBeouf’s live broadcast of his performance art piece #Elevate, he referred to Goth as his fiancée. Then, in March 2015, there were rumors they were engaged because Goth was spotted with a diamond on her ring finger at Paris Fashion Week.
They know how to have fun
LaBeouf and Goth have a lot of fun together. While chatting with i-D magazine in February 2014 (via Just Jared), she opened up about their relationship and their holiday plans. “We went to Rio over Christmas,” she revealed. “I have family over there. We went down to Copacabana Beach for New Year’s Eve — apparently there were 2.5 million people there. We partied right down the beach, and everyone was dancing — one minute samba, and the next minute electro. You could walk into the sea as the fireworks went off.”
The wedding
As previously mentioned, TMZ reported that LaBeouf and Goth got married on Oct. 10 in Las Vegas. An Elvis Presley impersonator married the two, and at one time TMZ also had a video of the entire wedding ceremony, but unfortunately the video has since been removed. The video had showcased their vows, Elvis being Elvis, a really excited LaBeouf and the two dancing.
The wedding, part 2
Because their wedding is so interesting, it deserves two slides. According to TMZ, they chose the Elvis Blue Hawaii package, which cost only $700. That’s definitely not a lot for a celebrity wedding.
The package reportedly included one Elvis officiant (with three serenades, of course), one hula dancer, a six-rose bouquet for Goth and a matching boutonniere, 10 ceremony prints and a round-trip limo service from any hotel on the strip or downtown.
After the wedding — and based on TMZ video footage — Goth got into a pink car (which I can only imagine is supposed to represent Elvis’ famous pink Cadillac) with Elvis. LaBeouf was nowhere in sight, but TMZ did ask Goth why they chose to get married in Vegas, and she answered, “Because it’s the perfect story for us.”
The honeymoon
Now that the nuptials are over, the couple must be planning a honeymoon, right? After getting married, TMZ caught up with Goth outside the Vegas wedding chapel and asked her where they are going on their honeymoon. She replied, “We don’t know yet.”
They’re always together
It’s rare that they aren’t spotted out in public together. Whether they’re grocery shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, taking a stroll, working out or attending a movie premiere, LaBeouf and Goth are always by each other’s side.
Seeing as they like to spend so much time together, it makes sense that they got married. They sure seem to just really, really love each other.
