Congrats to the cast and crew of Hamilton on their 500th show yesterday!
I want to see Hamilton on Broadway so, so badly I could scream. Unfortunately, New York isn’t exactly right around the corner from Los Angeles, not to mention the fact that tickets are selling like wildfire (shows are currently sold out until May 2017, and even then, seating is limited)… So for now, all I have are dreams and the behind-the-scenes pics.
Of course, if this slideshow isn’t enough for you, you can also check out Hamilton‘s America, which will air on PBS on Oct. 21, showcasing a behind-the-scenes look at Lin-Manuel Miranda’s take on America.
First day of rehearsal
Javier Muñoz, who currently plays the title role, showed off his #Ham500 appreciation with this throwback.
Hamilton gets direction
Muñoz also shared this picture of getting some notes from show director Thomas Kail.
Dressing down
The cast rehearsing in their sweats. No tight corsets and pantaloons for this run-through.
Check out the set
Hamilton is currently being performed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The perfect setting for this show.
That caffeine buzz
Thanks to Muñoz, we know the secret to a successful Hamilton show: coffee.
The case of the coffee giggles
“All the laughs during Javi’s Cafecito on two show days,” Muñoz shared on Twitter.
Cheers!
The cast of Hamilton can sure keep it classy with espresso in hand.
Backstage selfie time
These guys! Having fun and making history.
POTUS visit
That time when President Barack Obama came to see the show. NBD.
Barack Obama in the house
President Obama appeared to enjoy the show like everyone else in the crowd.
POTUS celebration
“My first broadway performance as Hamilton where @POTUS was in attendance,” Muñoz wrote on Twitter.
All that glitters
Muñoz and his co-stars can’t seem to keep those pearly whites hidden.
That moment when you meet Beyoncé
Which is more exciting: Mr. President or Beyoncé? Not even Muñoz seemed to be able to decide.
Love from the stars
Show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda isn’t afraid to show his star some red carpet love.
Twinsies
Lin-Manuel Miranda & Javier Muñoz definitely keep it sharp.
Beautiful ladies
“The absolute best photo I took of all my photos during our first year,” Muñoz said on Twitter.
A high school musical
Over 500 students from Bay Shore High School sat in to watch the show.
Inspiring the next generation
It looks like the student didn’t just get to watch the show, but they also got to hear from the cast.
Kings of the show
Muñoz poses with fellow Hamilton actor Rory O’Malley, who plays King George III.
Carleigh Bettiol gets snappy
Actress Carleigh Bettiol also celebrated the 500th show with some photos on Snapchat.
Pop those bottles
Bettiol also shared this photo on Snapchat to commemorate the evening.
Worth celebrating
“Thank you to The Somaini Family for this beautiful & generous gift,” Muñoz captioned his Champagne selfie.
