Another MTV VMAs has come and gone, and Sunday night’s ceremony was no less amazing than previous years. Katy Perry was on deck as the host of the evening’s ceremonies. She first came on stage wearing a super-shiny astronaut suit before proceeding to make jokes about The Handmaid’s Tale and fidget spinners (go figure) all while getting the crowd excited for the night to come.
There were performances from Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony, Pink and Miley Cyrus. There was an interpretive dance from Lorde and a music video premiere from her best friend Taylor Swift. Oh, and the VMAs this year did not shy away from the political, with a descendant of Robert E. Lee taking the stage to make a strong statement as well as the mother of Charlottesville victim Heather Heyer taking the stage to present the Best Fight Against the System award.
Basically, if you missed out on the 2017 MTV VMAs, you missed a lot. Here are some of the highlights.
