Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth’s sixth film playing Thor, releases Nov. 3. We’re excited for the return of Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange, but we’re especially intrigued to see Cate Blanchett make her debut as Hela. The daughter of Odin and Thor’s sister, Hela is the goddess of death and is based on the Norse deity Hel, though Marvel has taken some creative liberties with her family line.
The movie is sure to be an action treat to be enjoyed with a big tub of hot popcorn, but Hemsworth fighting with that silly oversize hammer surrounded by all that CGI can make us forget he has talent beyond his superhero persona.
Here we take a look at all of Hemsworth’s film roles when he’s not soaring through the universe in shimmering armor and red cape. He has a surprisingly large dramatic range as an actor and a huge talent for comedy, especially in his role as Kevin, the ditzy receptionist in the latest Ghostbusters movie.
