These 15 Movies Turning 25 in 2018 Will Make You Feel Old

1993 was an epic year.

If you’re too young to remember the early ’90s, let us set the scene. Bill Clinton was sworn in as the 42nd president of the United States. The Russian space station Mir held its first art exhibit in outer space. North Korea announced it would withdraw from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. Lorena Bobbitt cut off the penis of her husband, John Wayne Bobbitt (it was surgically reattached). And celebrities Ariana Grande, Chance the Rapper and Tiffany Trump were born.

Not only was 1993 a year for political and social milestones, it was also a year for some really hilarious, thought-provoking and exciting films. Schindler’s List would go on to win the Oscar for Best Picture in 1994; Mrs. Doubtfire cemented in our minds the comedic genius of Robin Williams and The Nightmare Before Christmas became the go-to Christmas movie for sentimental goths everywhere.

Take a look at our favorite movies from 1993. Warning: If you actually saw them in the theater when they were released, this trip down memory lane may make you feel a bit long in the tooth, but we promise it’s worth it.
