Music’s biggest night is officially here, and so is the fashion.
I think we can all agree that the best part of the Grammys is the performances, but the fashion on the red carpet is a close second. Without fail, stars show up year after year and don’t just dress to impress. They give us all something to talk about while we’re procrastinating work come Monday morning.
There was that one time Solange Knowles showed up dressed as a giant gold record, the time CeeLo Green disguised himself as C3PO, when Halsey wore a robe that called to mind the Genie from Aladdin and when Lady Gaga showed all the skin. Oh, and we also can’t forget the time Gaga was carried on the red carpet in an egg — an egg in which she had spent the previous 72 hours. She wanted to literally “be born on stage.” Doesn’t get more showy than that.
This year, the fashion was as buzz-worthy as ever, but not just because artists were adorned in glitter and feathers and long ball gowns. Many artists and celebrities used their attendance at the show to support for the #TimesUp movement by sporting a single white rose. Some wore it pinned to their outfits while others, like Sarah Silverman and Kelly Clarkson, simply carried it around.
