On May 13 on Lifetime, the movie Meghan Markle and Prince Harry fans have been waiting for finally premieres. It is, of course, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.
According to the official description, the movie will follow “the fairy-tale romance” of Harry (Murray Fraser, The Loch) and Meghan (Parisa Fitz-Henley, Midnight Texas, Jessica Jones). It will start at the very beginning of when they met, show how they were set up by friends and then take viewers through their courtship before they went public.
Who knows how accurate the movie will be, but when it comes to telling the exact story of anyone, including someone from the British royal family, not everything will hit the nail on the head. Only time will tell, and until then, let’s compare the Lifetime cast to their real-life counterparts. Believe it or not, some of the actors and actresses do resemble members of the royal family.
Murray Fraser & Parisa Fitz-Henley Are Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
Well, Fitz-Henley and Fraser sure look like they're just as in love as the real Meghan and Harry. There's a lot of pressure when it comes to playing real people. That's something Fitz-Henley told Entertainment Tonight Canada in March: "I would hope that when the real Meghan and Harry watch this, that they enjoy what we tried to do. It would be so weird, to me also, to see someone trying to be me. You can't ever perfectly do that, you know, but you can do your best, and I think we did our best. And everybody in this project had such good intentions, so I feel proud of that. And I hope that they [Meghan and Harry] at least don't hate it."
And They’re Just as Cute, Too
Everyone knows how cute Harry and Meghan are as a couple. No one can replicate their adorableness, either, but this picture of Fitz-Henley and Fraser definitely does the real royal couple's cuteness justice.
See? They're really channeling their inner Harry and Meghan here more than ever. Also, are they in bed together? Is the Lifetime movie going to give viewers some love scenes?
The Whole Gang
Here we have Laura Mitchell as Kate Middleton, Burgess Abernethy as Prince William, Preston Karwat as Prince George and Briella Wintraub as Princess Charlotte. There are similarities in appearance, but the true test will be watching them bring their characters to life.
Steve Coulter & Deborah Ramsey as Prince Charles & Camilla
Steve Coulter and Deborah Ramsey play Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, respectively. One thing the movie does get right? Camilla's love of fabulous hats.
Bonnie Soper as Princess Diana
This was a perfect casting choice. Bonnie Soper as Princess Diana is amazingly accurate. Now, let's hope her interpretation of Princess Diana is spot-on. Playing the mother of Harry and William isn't easy, so kudos to Soper for taking on the challenge.
Maggie Sullivun as Queen Elizabeth II
Finally, there is Queen Elizabeth II, played by Maggie Sullivun. If she ends up doing an amazing job, maybe, just maybe, she'll head on over to Netflix's The Crown one day to play the queen all over again.
