We officially have the 2018 Emmys under our belts, and what a whirlwind evening it was. Saturday Night Live cast members Colin Jost and Michael Che hosted the event. There was a musical number about diversity in television that left Twitter divided as well as a surprise proposal later in the show. TV newcomers The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Barry got a hefty share of awards as did longtime Emmys darling Game of Thrones. And each and every celebrity in attendance looked radiant in their finest award show attire. All things considered, the Emmys — known to many as the beginning of the award show season — were an overall success in our opinions.
But if there’s one universal truth about award shows, it’s that many fun moments don’t actually make it to air. So, while there are lots of moments to dissect about the actual Emmys, we’re also interested in honing in on the behind-the-scenes moments we missed. Let’s take a look at some of the behind-the-scenes moments that didn’t make the live broadcast as well as some sweet post-show moments from the Governors Ball (the preferred Emmys after-party).
