Garth Brooks teases big announcement — is it a world tour?

Garth Brooks may be coming to a town near you very soon.

Garth Brooks is a grandpa — just don’t tell anyone >>

Brooks officially retired 13 years ago (in 2001), saying that he wanted to put his family first. But he left the door open to an eventual return, saying he wanted to wait until his three daughters graduated high school. According to People, his youngest is finally out the door and that means he may be planning his return.

Back in December, Brooks announced he planned to do a world tour in 2014. And then, just last week, he posted a message on his website: “The wait is over… 7/7.” The country singer made the announcement Monday morning — but only said that he would be announcing his big news on Thursday morning, July 10.

Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, said they are planning to spend more time at their home in Nashville, and everyone is guessing that his announcement means a world tour is on the way. Although he does currently have five shows scheduled in Ireland, they have not yet been approved by the local governments.

“I have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland,” Brooks said of the shows. “For us, it is five shows or none at all. To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do would be like asking to choose one child over another.”

Some are wondering if the delay in Ireland is why he delayed a possible tour announcement.
