Robin Thicke gives up quest to win wife Paula Patton back

Robin Thicke is actually throwing in the towel on trying to save his marriage to Paula Patton and admits the two are over.

After a long campaign of striving to win Patton back, the “Blurred Lines” crooner has given up the fight and conceded the end of his relationship, TMZ reported. Thicke finally told his camp that his marriage has crashed.

The news was hinted at when Thicke listed his Los Angeles home on Monday, which Patton hasn’t stepped foot in since their February separation. Apparently, the couple has an attorney currently working on separating their assets, although neither Thicke nor Patton has hired a divorce attorney yet.

Thicke told TMZ that he would not be the one to file divorce papers first, as Patton is the one who has to take the first step. However, the controversial flirty singer says he will not beg Patton to return anymore and is going to move on with his life.

Thicke’s nine-year marriage after 20 years together with Patton first came undone when he was photographed grabbing a young blonde’s behind during a photo op. Word then came that the popular pop star had been flirty on more than one occasion, finally causing his wife to walk away.

Not wanting to end his marriage, Thicke embarked on an all-out effort to win Patton back by dedicating songs to her during concerts. He even named his latest album after her and sang “I Miss You and I’m Sorry” to her during the BET Awards in June.

“I’d like to dedicate this to my wife,” Thicke told the crowd. “I miss you, and I’m sorry.”

This was the second song he directly dedicated to her while at an awards show. The first was back in May when he sang “Get Her Back” in Patton’s honor at the Billboard Music Awards.
