INTERVIEW: Abby Lee Miller talks Dance Mom changes
SheKnows caught up with Dance Moms coach Abby Lee Miller at the Teen Choice Awards to find out how the Lifetime reality television show has changed now that the young dancers are growing up.
The dance coach star admitted there’s more work for her now that the girls have gotten older. So what’s the hardest thing about her job now?

“Work more shifts, more choreography, more chaos. You know, I think the girls are improving, they’re learning. I think we have the format down, now if those darn mothers would just learn from their mistakes,” she revealed.
If you’ve ever watched the show, you’ll know that it’s hard to keep the dancers’ mothers in line, so how does Miller manage?
“Oh, I can keep them in line,” she confessed. “I’d wanna throw them all out, but they have contracts with Lifetime, so I can’t.”
However, it’s not just Dance Moms that we were curious about. We were also wondering about Miller’s time on Dancing With the Stars and her very public backlash with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

“Who?? No, ah, he has every right to say whatever he wants to say, I just teach my dancers to expect to be critiqued when you go into a competition,” Miller said of her feud with Chmerkovskiy. “If you’re gonna go and everyone’s gonna tell you how wonderful you are all the time, why go? Let’s start performing, why is it a competition? And I’m sure his dance teacher taught him that, too. I’m sure.”
But Miller also has something exciting happening in her life at the moment — the launch of her new book.
So what can you expect to find in her book?
