The word has been out since December of last year that the couple is having marital problems, though Cannon and Carey have been shutting those rumors down hard; Cannon even laughed out loud at rumors in May and said he seriously questioned the integrity of news outlets reporting that his marriage was on the rocks.

“You kind of have to ignore it because every week it’s something different, and if you paid attention to it, it actually would really start affecting you,” Cannon said to Parade at the time. “There’s no merit or truth to it. It’s kind of humorous really. It couldn’t be further off from the truth and it really affects the credibility of the so-called newspapers.”

He added that the two had renewed their vows and had a blast celebrating their sixth anniversary and their twins’ birthday.

“The first part of the day, we threw a birthday for them and their friends at their school, and then after that, once we tired all of the kids out, we had a nice romantic rooftop evening and kind of re-enacted some of our wedding and engagement rituals that we do every year,” he said.

But sources are telling E! News a different story.

“They have been living apart for a while. This is not all of a sudden. There have been issues between them for a while. They are not getting along,” a source close to Carey says. “She wants to end it and it has been in the works for months, which is why her house in the Bahamas and the house in Bel Air are on the market.”

Carey has had the Bahamas home since before the two had their wedding there, but E! News does confirm that the tropical abode and the couple’s lavish California home are both currently for sale.
