Carrie Underwood pregnant with first child
Carrie Underwood announced that she’s pregnant with her first child on Twitter this Monday with some help from the hairier members of her family.

Underwood‘s baby news included a photo of the country singer snuggling her two pet pooches, Penny and Ace. Ace wore a blue shirt that read, “I’m going to be a big brother,” and Penny wore a pink shirt that read, “I’m going to be a big sister.”
Underwood’s hockey husband, Mike Fisher, joined his wife in celebrating the happy news with a post of his own on social media, confirming that the couple was, in fact, expecting a baby and not adding another dog to their family since there was a bit of confusion from curious fans.

It looks like Underwood and Fisher might be taking a page from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s book — when it comes to names, that is. (They famously named their daughter North West.)
We’re pretty sure Fisher is joking, as he and Underwood seem like a more traditional couple, but it is Hollywood, after all.
Fisher and Underwood tied the knot back in 2010, after dating for about a year. The happy couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary last month on July 10 and we’re thinking this is about the best present the couple could have hoped for.

The couple spoke with Oprah back in 2012 about their family plans. At the time, Underwood said, “Soon? No,” to the idea of getting pregnant, while Fisher empathetically said, “Of course!”
“He’s going to be the best dad ever,” Underwood continued. “And that makes the whole parent situation seem much, much better.”
Underwood and Fisher both see two or three children in their family down the road. It sounds like Underwood’s first pregnancy is just the beginning.
