CeeLo Green has a messed up definition of rape
After pleading no contest to charges he slipped a woman ecstasy and had sex with her in her drugged state, CeeLo Green defended himself on Twitter with the world’s most ridiculous definition of sexual assault.
According to the former The Voice coach, it only counts as rape if she’s conscious. That’s right, ladies: If you’re passed out and unable to defend yourself, CeeLo says all bets are off.
Green was accused by a longtime friend of drugging her with ecstasy and possibly raping her; he claimed the sex was consensual. A lack of evidence caused the prosecution to decline to file rape charges, but the singer was sentenced to three years’ probation and 45 days of community service for the drug felony.
But it sounds like he could use some classes in the law because he seems to think if she can’t remember, it didn’t happen — even after being drugged.
In a series of tweets that have since been deleted, along with his entire Twitter account, Green wrote, “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”
“If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent.”

VIDEO: CeeLo says goodbye to The Voice >>
Someone from his legal team must have tried to talk some sense into him because he later sorta kinda tried to recant his statements.
“Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom!” he wrote. “Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”
But he must have felt it was too little, too late: His Twitter account has since disappeared.
FYI, in most states, incapacitated people are legally unable to consent to sex.
