Sony hack exposes how execs really feel about Angelina Jolie
You’d think after all the nude leaks and internet scandals this year that people, especially in the entertainment world, would be more careful about what they said and sent.

Unfortunately, the execs for the Sony Steve Jobs biopic film are learning the lesson personally now that their private e-mails are being made public in a hack that has the studio scrambling for an explanation.
No explanation necessary in this e-mail correspondence between Hollywood bigwig producer, Scott Rudin, and Sony co-chairman, Amy Pascal. All you have to do is read their e-mails to have a very harsh picture of the film world painted clearly before your eyes.

And while their squabbling over the Jobs biopic definitely leaves no question about why the film has been having so much trouble, the most surprising comments are those about Angelina Jolie, who the two easily threw under the bus throughout their correspondence.

Rudin definitely throws a lot more shade than Pascal.
The producer was unhappy that Jolie wanted director, David Fincher, for her Cleopatra movie, while Rudin and Pascal wanted him for Jobs.
Rudin demanded Pascal “shut Angie down before she makes it very hard for David to do Jobs.”
Unfortunately, Pascal wanted Rudin to engage in the discussion instead of just dealing with Jolie herself, which caused Rudin to lose control of his temper.
“Let me remind you I brought this material to you and I can off [Jolie] from it in a phone call,” Rudin writes to Pascal when she gets defensive. “Don’t for one second even think about trying this shit with me. There is no movie of Cleopatra to be made (and how that is a bad thing given the insanity and rampaging spoiled ego of this woman and the cost of the movie is beyond me)…”
Rudin goes on to say, “I have zero appetite for the indulgence of spoiled brats and I will tell her this myself if you don’t.”

As if that wasn’t heated enough, the conversation continued to escalate to the point where it looks like Rudin and Pascal have ruined their friendship over the ordeal.
During the next e-mail correspondence, Rudin wrote an even more lengthy reply about his dislike for Jolie. “I’m not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie. I have no desire to be making a movie with her, or anybody, that she runs and that we don’t. She’s a camp event and a celebrity and that’s all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming.”
Now that these e-mails have leaked, it will be interesting to see what will become of the long “upcoming” Jobs biopic. Perhaps Sony will shelve it for good, especially now that Fincher is out of the project and Christian Bale backed out of the starring role.
We also can’t wait to see if Jolie will respond to Rudin’s remarks. It looks like the producer was more upset over not getting his way, rather than actually targeting the actress. Still, insulting one of Hollywood’s heavyweights can’t be good for Rudin’s career.
