Outlander Finale Sneak Peek: William Turns to His Estranged Father For Help

Last week, Outlander left us on the ol’ cliff hanger hook, with Claire (Caitríona Balfe) at death’s door, Jamie (Sam Heughan) freaking out by her bedside, and writing in her blood on topless soldier’s backs (yes, you read that correctly). Lord John (David Berry) and Ian (John Bell) saved William (Charles Vandervaart). Then William was off to save Jane (Silvia Presente), who’s being held for murder. Denny (Joey Phillips was operating on Claire, and Rachel was stuck holding the cheese. But it’s fine, it’s moldy and before Claire lost consciousness, she told them to make penicillin from it. Always thinking, that one. Even with a bullet in her liver. Can’t live(r) without her. And that’s exactly how they left us and Jamie. Thinking we may have to live without Claire Fraser in this world. No sir. But we’ve got a sneak peek at all the Outlander finale drama.

For William when it comes to estranged dads, he’s the host of “Choose My Daddy.” That’s right, William has two dads. And technically the same stepmom in two different ways. Hi, Claire. William’s family is complicated! Leave him be. Let him live. But he’s mad at both dads. Somehow his stepmom is still in good standing, mainly because she’s like, “Listen stepson, I didn’t have anything to do with any of this, I was in the future when this sh*t went down, and frankly (no pun intended), if I hadn’t been, you would have never been!” That’s right, William was only conceived because Claire had to leave Jamie to go back to the future. If she hadn’t left, he wouldn’t have been born! But she did, and he was, and here we are.

In the exclusive video clip, William desperately turns to his estranged father. Which one you may ask? It’s Lord John, the father he’s always known, that he first turns to for help in finding Jane. William is still seething and very angry at both Lord John and Jamie. But will he seek out Jamie’s help too? Or is he not talking to his dad ever! Watch and see what William asks.

The finale airs Friday, January 17 at midnight on Starz. Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe teased these last two episodes as their favorite, and Heughan said it might be his favorite finale ever. Ever.
