EXCLUSIVE: New Outlander Season 5 Deleted Scene Gives Jamie Fraser & John Grey Some Time Alone
In the midst of Droughtlander, there’s nothing that quenches our thirst like the news of a newly released clip — and today, SheKnows has an exclusive look at a moment from the second-to-last episode that didn’t make the final cut. This new deleted scene from season 5, episode 11 gives Jamie Fraser and Lord John Grey a moment alone to mourn the death of their friend Roger Murtaugh, and make a toast in his honor — or anyway, John does his best and then Jamie takes over, with some Emmy-worthy throat-clearing from Sam Heughan. In a series we firmly believe is starved for more Jamie and John content, we’ll take these quiet moments where we can get them.
Standing by Murtaugh’s graveside, Jamie and John resolve to raise a final glass for Murtaugh. “I’m glad we could have one last drink,” John says. “All three of us. Before I have to leave.”
After a wistful glance between them (come on, you know exactly the kind), John offers his toast with a smile: “Slainte.”
Jamie, bless his heart, can’t even keep a straight face for a second as he looks down at the grave: “You cannae say that,” he reminds him. “It means good health.”
