Martha Stewart On Her Friendship With Snoop Dogg & That Pool Selfie Heard ‘Round the World

Home decor and cooking maven Martha Stewart may not seemingly have much in common with hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg, but that hasn’t stopped the two from forming a long-lasting bond as friends. “I hate to say it, but I think I’m a mother figure to him,” said Stewart in an exclusive interview with SheKnows from her home in Bedford, New York.

“There are many millions of things that I know, that Snoop Dogg doesn’t know. But then, there is an awful lot that Snoop Dogg knows that I don’t know. That’s why I think we’re friends, because we both learn from each other every single time we talk,” she says. “And my motto is, ‘learn something new every day.'”

Honestly, that may be the secret to why her brand has transcended generations — because she’s open-minded. “Evolve, change all the time,” she said.

Certainly, there’s a lot of curiosity — from all sides — around the evolution of this pairing. “When I go to Maine to my white community in Seal Harbor, all they talk about is [Snoop Dogg] and when are you going to come visit,” she says. “He says, ‘Martha, when I go to my community, everybody asks when is Martha going to come visit,'” she added. “So it’s funny like that. We laugh about that. Because they are interested in why he likes me, and my gang is all interested in why I hang out with him.”

Whatever the reasons, it works, and we’re here for it. And this season, fans will get even more of the duo — as the 80-year-old grandmother of two and the 50-year-old rapper are coming out with new designs for their partnership with BIC EZ Reach lighters.
