Frozen Jalapeno Margaritas

Serves 6

Ingredients:

    t
  • 1 jalapeno (poked many times with a knife)
  • t

  • 1-1/3 cups tequila
  • t

  • 1 cup orange flavored liqueur (such as Triple Sec)
  • t

  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (juice from about 10 limes)
  • t

  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • t

  • Sea salt for rimming the glasses
  • t

  • 3 cups ice
  • t

  • Jalapeno halves and lime slices for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a jar, steep the jalapeno and tequila for 3 days.
  2. t

  3. Strain the tequila into a large pitcher and take out the jalapeno.
  4. t

  5. Stir in the orange liqueur, lime juice and sugar.
  6. t

  7. Cover the bottom of a plate with salt and pour a small amount of the margarita onto another plate.
  8. t

  9. Dip the rims of 6 glasses into the margarita then into the salt.
  10. t

  11. Blend the margarita mixture with the ice and pour into prepared glasses.
  12. t

  13. Garnish with jalapenos and lime slices. Serve immediately.
